For Adopters

How do I find a pet to adopt?

Browse available pets on the Pets page. You can filter by species, location, and adoption fee. When you find a pet you love, click "inquire" to send a message directly to the rescue.

Is the adoption fee negotiable?

Every rescue sets their own adoption fees, which typically cover spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchipping. Fees are listed transparently on each pet's profile — reach out to the rescue if you have questions.

How do donations work?

When you donate to a rescue, your full contribution goes directly to the organization. You can give a one-time monetary donation, pledge specific supplies from a rescue's wishlist, or contribute to vet care costs.

Will I be notified when a pet I saved gets adopted?

If you donated to a pet's vet care fund, you'll receive an email update when the rescue posts a vet care milestone. Success stories featuring adopted pets are posted on the Success Stories page.

How do I save pets I'm interested in?

Create a free account and sign in. Bookmark any pet using the bookmark icon on their card or profile — they'll appear in your dashboard under Saved Pets.

For Rescues

How do I list a pet for adoption?

Sign up for a rescue account and complete your profile verification. Once approved, you can add pets from your dashboard. Each pet gets a public profile page and can receive inquiries and donations.

What does the verification process involve?

We review rescue organizations to ensure they are legitimate operations. You'll need to provide your organization's name, location, and some information about your operation. Most rescues are approved within 24–48 hours.

How do I receive donations?

Donations are sent directly to your connected Stripe account. You'll see them reflected in your rescue dashboard. There is no platform fee for rescues — Stripe's standard processing rates apply.

Can I post supply wishlist items?

Yes. From your rescue dashboard, go to Wishlist to add items you need — food, bedding, crates, medical supplies, and more. Donors can pledge items and mark them fulfilled directly from your profile.

How does the weekly digest work?

Every Sunday, RescueHub sends you an email summarizing the week's adoption inquiries, foster applications, and donation activity. You can manage your notification preferences in your dashboard.

General

Is RescueHub free to use?

Yes. Adopters pay nothing to browse, save pets, or send inquiries. Rescues pay no listing fees. We earn a small portion of applicable Stripe transaction fees.

How does RescueHub make money?

We earn through Amazon product link commissions when you purchase supplies through our wishlists, and a small platform fee on donations that is already included — the rescue receives the full donated amount.

How do I report a suspicious listing?

Use the "Report" button on any pet profile. Our team reviews all reports within 24 hours and will investigate and take action if needed.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Contact us at support@rescuehub.ai and we'll delete your account and all associated data.
