Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and any additional profile information you choose to provide. When you make a donation, Stripe collects your payment information — RescueHub does not store credit card numbers. We also collect information about your interactions on the platform, including which pets you view and your donation history.

Rescuers who create profiles provide their organization name, location, and information about the animals in their care. This information is stored in Supabase, our database provider.

How We Use Your Information

• To process donations and send receipts
• To facilitate adoption inquiries and messaging between rescuers and adopters
• To provide a personalized dashboard and donation history
• To send account-related notifications (inquiry responses, pledge updates)
• To improve our platform and understand usage patterns

Payment Processing

All donations are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. RescueHub does not collect or store your credit card, debit card, or bank account numbers. When you donate, Stripe's privacy policy and terms of service apply to the payment portion of your transaction. You can review Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

Data Sharing

We share your personal information with:

• Rescuer organizations — when you submit an adoption inquiry or donate to a specific rescue, they receive your name, email, and the content of your message or donation.
• Supabase — our database provider, which hosts and stores your account and platform data under strict security requirements.
• Stripe — to process your donation; Stripe has its own data practices governed by its privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties or advertisers.

Cookies

RescueHub uses cookies to keep you logged in and to understand how you use our platform. We use session cookies (temporary, deleted when you close your browser) and may use analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage patterns. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not function properly without them.

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by contacting us at support@rescuehub.com. We will respond to deletion requests within 30 days. Donation records may be retained for a longer period for legal and accounting purposes.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct or update inaccurate information
• Delete your personal information
• Object to certain uses of your information
• Export your data in a machine-readable format

Children's Privacy

RescueHub is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/HTTPS) to protect data in transit. Our database provider (Supabase) employs security measures including encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security audits. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on our platform and update the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
