1. About RescueHub

RescueHub is a platform that connects animal rescue organizations ("Rescues") with people who wish to support them through monetary donations, supply donations, and pet adoption ("Users"). RescueHub is not itself a rescue organization and does not take custody of or place animals. All animal-related decisions, including adoption approvals, are made solely by the Rescue.

2. Account Eligibility and Registration

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have consent from a parent or guardian to use the Platform.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

3. User Roles

RescueHub supports three user roles:

• Adopters — Users who browse animals and submit adoption inquiries.
• Donors — Users who make monetary or supply donations to rescues.
• Rescues — Registered animal rescue organizations that list animals and accept donations.

A single user may act in multiple roles. Rescue accounts are subject to additional verification requirements at the discretion of RescueHub.

4. Donations

When you make a donation through RescueHub, you authorize us to charge your payment method via Stripe. All donations are final and non-refundable unless required by applicable law. Donations fund the activities of the Rescue organization you select — RescueHub passes the full donated amount to the Rescue minus payment processing fees.

RescueHub does not guarantee that donations will be used for any specific purpose unless the Rescue has committed to that use. We do not assume responsibility for how a Rescue uses donated funds.

Supply donations represent a pledge to provide goods. Rescues may cancel or modify supply requests at their discretion. Monetary donations are processed immediately at the time of pledge.

5. Adoption Inquiries

Submitting an adoption inquiry does not guarantee adoption of the animal. Each Rescue reviews inquiries independently and makes placement decisions at their sole discretion. RescueHub is not responsible for a Rescue's decision to accept or deny any application.

You agree to provide accurate and honest information in your adoption inquiry. Providing false information may result in denial of adoption and termination of your account.

6. Rescue Responsibilities

Rescues using RescueHub represent that they are legally authorized to operate as animal rescue organizations in their jurisdiction and to place animals for adoption. Rescues are solely responsible for:

• The accuracy of their listing information, including animal descriptions, fees, and availability
• The health, temperament, and behavioral evaluation of their listed animals
• Their adoption screening process and final placement decisions
• Compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws regarding animal placement and fundraising

RescueHub reserves the right to suspend or remove any Rescue account that violates these Terms or applicable law.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use RescueHub to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent animal listings or donation requests
• Use the platform to transact outside of RescueHub's payment system
• Harass, defame, or threaten other users or rescues
• Scrape, copy, or reproduce platform content for commercial purposes without permission
• Use automated systems to access the platform in a manner that imposes unreasonable load
• Violate any applicable law or regulation

8. Intellectual Property

RescueHub and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by RescueHub and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute RescueHub content without our written permission.

Users retain ownership of the content they submit (animal photos, descriptions, messages). By posting content on RescueHub, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content on our platform.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

RescueHub may contain links to third-party websites, including Amazon for supply wishlists. We do not endorse or assume responsibility for any third-party content, products, or services. Interactions with third-party sites are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

RescueHub is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We do not guarantee any outcome from using the platform, including adoption of any animal or successful donation delivery.

You use RescueHub at your own risk. RescueHub is not responsible for the actions, representations, or conduct of any Rescue or User on the platform.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RescueHub and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the platform, including but not limited to damages for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In no event shall RescueHub's total liability exceed the amount of donations you have made through the platform in the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RescueHub, its operators, and affiliates from any claim, demand, or damage arising out of (a) your violation of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the platform, or (c) your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

RescueHub reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, or any reason we deem necessary to protect the platform and its users. Users may delete their account at any time by contacting us. Termination does not affect obligations incurred prior to termination.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of RescueHub shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting a notice on the platform and updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of RescueHub after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
